The main focus for our physiotherapy service is to carry out sessions either on the inpatient wards or in our rehabilitation gym.
Patients may be given a personalized exercise program to do at home, or work with a Physio weekly in the gym or be referred into one of the group exercise classes or FAB clinic.
Physiotherapy can:
- Promote independence and help people adapt to their changing condition
- Help reduce some of the effects of an illness
- Provide psychological and emotional support
- Improve quality of life
- Help manage day-to-day activities
- Set realistic patient-centred goals
Physiotherapy can help with:
- Breathing difficulties
- Mobility and functional problems
- Loss of independence and confidence
- Fatigue and muscle weakness
- Pain management
- Movement and handling
We can also offer advice on lifestyle management and coping strategies.
