The main focus for our physiotherapy service is to carry out sessions either on the inpatient wards or in our rehabilitation gym.

Patients may be given a personalized exercise program to do at home, or work with a Physio weekly in the gym or be referred into one of the group exercise classes or FAB clinic.

Physiotherapy can:

  • Promote independence and help people adapt to their changing condition
  • Help reduce some of the effects of an illness
  • Provide psychological and emotional support
  • Improve quality of life
  • Help manage day-to-day activities
  • Set realistic patient-centred goals

Physiotherapy can help with:

  • Breathing difficulties
  • Mobility and functional problems
  • Loss of independence and confidence
  • Fatigue and muscle weakness
  • Pain management
  • Movement and handling

We can also offer advice on lifestyle management and coping strategies.

We are always looking at ways to improve our services. If you have any suggestions, we would be happy to hear them.
