Donate goods

Our shops wouldn’t exist without your kind donations. We are so grateful for your quality pre-loved items.

Donating to a shop

If you would like to donate your goods at any of our shops across Herefordshire, we recommend you ring the shop directly to check they are open and welcoming donations on that day. We would hate for you to have a wasted journey. Please visit the ‘What you can’t donate’ section for more information on what we cannot accept. Please remember not to include any broken, soiled or perishable items.

For full information and contact details for all of our shops, please visit our shop finder page.

Furniture collection

If you have large items of furniture you would like to donate, why not use our free Furniture collection service. Our friendly 2-person team can come and collect the items from you for free within a 20 mile radius of one of our Home and Living stores.

Please note, unfortunately we cannot offer collections for items such as clothing or small household items as it would not be cost-effective for the hospice. We may ask you to send photos in advance of us collecting items, and if the drivers on arrival feel the items cannot be sold in our shops we will not collect the items.

Possessions left in a Will

What can I donate?

Thank you for considering donating your pre-loved and unwanted items to St Michael’s. Every item donated and then sold helps us to continue caring for our patients and families. Without your donations we couldn’t help as many people across the community.

Our shops cannot accept broken or soiled items. If these items go into our shops unfortunately it costs the charity to dispose of these items, so please take care to donate only quality, pre-loved items and check out the list of what we can accept below.

Clothes and shoes

  • Clean and undamaged – no stains or tears
  • In very good condition
  • No branded uniforms

Children’s toys/nursery furniture

  • Clean, undamaged and CE marked
  • Complete, with all pieces intact
  • In very good condition

Household items

  • Small electricals in good working condition and boxed as new
  • Carefully wrap fragile items
  • Clean and undamaged linen, curtains and blankets

Books, media & CD’s

  • Books – undamaged, pages intact
  • Unfortunately we can’t accept VHS or free CDs/DVDs from magazines or papers

As a general rule we can collect six large items in one collection. If you have more than six items then a viewing may be required in advance of a collection, please speak to our Collections Team for more information and advice. We do not provide a house clearance service.
