Considered to be one of the most important historic houses in Herefordshire, Kentchurch Court is the ancestral home of the Lucas-Scudamore family.

Named by The Guardian as one of the best secret gardens in the UK, the property covers part of a wider estate stretching some 5,000 acres.

The gardens provide an intimate space for the family, and there is a vegetable garden, an orchard and a deer park.
There are plenty of perennial flowers that overflow on to the paths.

Pre-booked house tours available both days. These tours are adults only and dogs will not be allowed.

Friday, 1pm:
Sea Legs Puppet Theatre presents, Tales from the Farmyard.
Using live music, lovingly crafted puppets and miniature painted scenery, the Story Man will delight audiences young and old with his magical suitcase full of stories.

Saturday, 12.30am & 3pm:
Witness the awe-inspiring Wye Valley Falconry displays.

Please note: Wheelchair access limited; woodland walk not suitable and there are steps to the front of the property

  • Dogs on leads permitted in gardens only
  • Sea Legs Puppet Theatre performance at 1pm on Friday 4th
  • Falconry display at 12.30pm and 3pm on Saturday 5th
  • Falconer on hand to talk to all day Saturday
  • House tours at 11.30am and 2pm both days, costing £10 (must be pre-booked; limited spaces)
  • No wheelchair access on house tours
