💡 Fundraising Tips to reach (and beat!) your target
Getting sponsored might sound daunting, but with a little creativity and enthusiasm, it’s easier than you think. Here are some of our favourite ways to boost your total:
1. Start with family & friends
People close to you will want to support you—especially when you’re jumping off a platform for charity! Share your story and your JustGiving fundraising link via text, WhatsApp or email.
2. Go social
Use your social media platforms to shout about your challenge. Post videos, countdowns, or even a live stream on the day. The more visible your efforts, the more likely people are to chip in!
3. Get creative with fundraisers
Host a quiz night, coffee morning, bake sale, or raffle. Every little bit helps, and it all adds up toward your £250 goal.
4. Corporate sponsorship
Ask your employer or local businesses to sponsor you. Many love to support local charities – especially when it comes with great PR and a fearless jumper!
5. Share your ‘Why’
People are more likely to donate when they know why this means something to you. Whether it’s a personal connection to the hospice or a passion for the cause, share your reason and inspire others.
We’re so excited to have you join us for this heart-pounding, once-in-a-lifetime challenge! Registration
You will be assigned a registration time 30 minutes before your activity. On arrival at the registration table, you will be greeted by our team, given a health and safety briefing, and required to sign a waiver. This process takes no more than 10 minutes per person.
You will then be asked to remove all jewellery and secure loose items before proceeding to the harnessing area.
Timings are a guide and may be affected by factors such as participant ability, weather, group sizes, and operational needs. Flexibility may be required.
Harnessing
Our friendly harnessing crew will make sure everyone is securely fitted with the highest quality harnesses and safety equipment, making you feel fully prepared and at ease for the adventure ahead. You will be directed to the route to the activity platform.
Platform Ready
All harnesses and equipment will be checked with the instructor on the platform, and the activity is ready to start! Our excellent instructors will guide each person through the process, keeping the activity safe and fun.
Landing
You will land back to the ground, with help from our landing team. The team will then de-harness you back at the harnessing area.
What to wear – We recommend comfortable clothing that allows free movement, such as sports attire. Comfortable and firmly secured footwear such as trainers and clothing appropriate to the weather is essential. Hair will need to be tied up and hair accessories must not obstruct the fitting of PPE. We ask that all jewellery is removed before harnessing, including watches, rings, piercings, necklaces, anklets and bracelets. All pockets, including zipped ones must be completely empty.
Fancy Dress – We welcome creative outfits and costumes; however, we must make sure that the clothing or costume doesn’t restrict movement, and that all PPE can be securely fitted. We will always try to work around an outfit but please be aware we may have to remove items, and it is a good idea to bring a spare change of clothes.
Spectators – We encourage spectators to come and cheer on their friends and family. Spectators should arrive at the same time as the participant (i.e. the registration time), so not to miss anything.
