Tiny heart with a big heart: Postcards from Life returns

Tiny heart with a big heart: Postcards from Life returns

An online exhibition showcasing tiny art with a big heart is set to benefit St Michael’s Hospice this autumn.

Postcards from Life shines a light on the work of some of the most talented artists in Herefordshire and further afield – and gives you the chance to bid for their work.

Almost 200 miniature masterpieces, many created during lockdown including Graham Milsom’s ‘Heroes’ (pictured), will go under the hammer online during a three-week bidding window from the end of October.

The invited artists, who include the likes of renowned Herefordshire painter Charles MacCarthy, are given no brief, meaning they are free to choose whatever subject matter they wish, as long as it’s postcard-sized.

Over the years, Postcards from Life has raised tens of thousands of pounds for St Michael’s with bids received from as far afield as China and Australia.

Event co-ordinator Gaynor Warren said: ‘The quality of entries this year is outstanding. I think it’s our best collection yet. So get ready to browse and bid for work which will brighten any room, safe in the knowledge that your support will help families in our community living with a terminal illness.’

The auction couldn’t take place without the continued support of Brightwells which hosts the online bidding system.
