Annual event at Builth Wells Rugby Club raises over £2,300 for St Michael’s
The sixth instalment of a popular agricultural competition has proved its most popular yet, raising over £2,300 for St Michael’s.
Over 200 entrants competed for the ‘Tatoe Day’ Dave Dixon Memorial Cup, held at Builth Wells Rugby Club.

The competition begins in April when participants buy a seed potato and bucket for £5. The aim is to grow the heaviest crop by August.
Each year, the committee selects a charity. For 2025 the committee asked Rob Hobbs to select the charity. Rob was honoured to be able to select St Michael’s where he’d received support following his MND diagnosis. He sadly passed away in August.
Thank you so much to everyone who helped make ‘Tatoe Day’ such a special event.
