St Michael’s praises £10K funding boost from ShareGift
Unrestricted funds are part of wider hospice donations from ShareGift
St Michael’s Hospice is set to receive a cash boost following a generous donation by a share donation charity.
ShareGift is handing out a total of £350,000 to hospices across the UK, with St Michael’s in line for £10,000, alongside 30 other hospices. Hospice UK, meanwhile, will receive £50,000.
The funds are unrestricted, meaning the Bartestree-based charity can choose where to allocate the money.
In a statement announcing the funding, ShareGift said: “All of these hospices have been suggested by our donors – often when giving just a few pounds worth of shares.”
St Michael’s Chief Executive, Matt Fellows, praised the generosity of ShareGift, and its donors.
“St Michaels, like every hospice up and down the UK, relies heavily on the support of our community to meet the funding shortfall we face each and every year,” he said.
“We’re so grateful, therefore, to ShareGift and its donors for choosing St Michael’s as beneficiaries of this £10,000.
“The money will be used to support our ongoing desire to provide care to anyone across Herefordshire and its borders who requires access to high quality free-of-charge palliative care.”
