When Scott Balderson witnessed the care given to his close friend Phill Price by staff at St Michael’s, he decided to challenge himself and raise money for his Hospice.

So next month, Scott will walk 17 miles from Gloucester to Sharpness, along the canal path.

Friends, family and colleagues have donated hundreds of pounds already, with plenty more pledged.

Scott says his friend will be in the forefront of his mind while walking.

‘I’d known Phill more than 20 years. He had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. I miss him greatly.

‘The care he received from St Michael’s was first class, and this is my way of saying Thank You.’
