RUN Hereford sponsorship extension

RUN Hereford sponsorship extension

The sponsors of Hereford’s largest running event have pledged their ongoing commitment to the day.

Western Power Distribution (WPD) has extended its sponsorship of RUN Hereford, which returns on Sunday 19th September following a Covid-enforced break in 2020.

The annual event regularly raises tens of thousands of pounds for St Michael’s Hospice and attracts runners from across Herefordshire and beyond.

Andy Barton, of WPD, said: “As long standing supporters of St Michael’s Hospice we were delighted to sponsor RUN Hereford again. It is a great event and I would encourage everyone to support the event if they can.

“The pandemic has meant that charities like St Michael’s have all been hit hard financially and they need even more support than usual. This event will help to raise vital funds in a really fun and enjoyable way and hopefully provide a boost to help them carry on the fantastic work that they do seven days a week, 365 days a year, thoughout our community.”

RUN Hereford features three routes – a Half Marathon, 10K and 5K – with runners encouraged to raise sponsorship money for St Michael’s alongside the entry cost.

‘We simply couldn’t put on events such as RUN Hereford without the support of our business friends,’ said Simon Kershaw, the Hospice’s Events & Community Fundraising Officer.

‘For the best part of a decade, WPD has been by our side, helping grow this annual event into the one of the biggest of its kind in the region.

‘We thank them for their support and look forward to working with them into the future.’
