Pledge some time: Hereford Rugby Club tries Volunteering
There was a scrum at the tills when customers heard Hereford Rugby Club players were volunteering in a St Michael’s Hospice shop.
The players gave up a few hours of their time to help out at our Holmer Road Home and Living Store.
The sportsmen visited as part of a campaign to attract more members of our community to volunteer for St Michael’s.
“It was a great shift, and we all enjoyed it,” said Spencer Goodall from Hereford Rugby Club.
“It was a pleasure to pledge our time for St Michael’s and we would encourage others, if they are able, to do the same.”
Volunteer roles with St Michael’s are wide and varied. From sorting donations or valuing stock in our shops, to home maker roles on the IPU, there’s a role to suit everyone.
“We really enjoyed welcoming Hereford Rugby Club to our Holmer Road Home and Living Store,” said Benjamin Pardoe, the Hospice’s Volunteer Co-ordinator.
“They enjoyed themselves, and we were immensely grateful that they gave up their time for their Hospice.”
