As a supporter of St Michael’s Hospice, you are at the very heart of what we do. Your support allows us to provide expert palliative care for patients at our hospice or in their own homes. Alongside supporting the whole family to navigate the challenges of caregiving, loss and grief. Thanks to people like you, no one has to choose between comfort and cost at the end of life.
Our fundraising promise
It takes a whole community to fund every moment of care. We greatly appreciate every gift to the hospice.
We want donating or fundraising for St Michael’s to be a positive and rewarding experience. With this in mind, we are committed to the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Practice and promise to ensure that our fundraising practices are legal, open, honest and respectful.
We promise:
We will be fair and respectful
We will only contact you in a way that you are happy with. If you tell us that you’d prefer less contact; for us to contact you in a different way; or for us not to contact you again, we will respect your wishes. We will always check whether you are happy and have the time to speak with us in person or on the telephone, before entering into a conversation with you. We are registered with the Fundraising Preference Service and adhere to all requests.
We will not put any undue pressure on you to make a donation, or to change the support you give to other good causes. If you do not want to give, or you wish to stop giving, that’s entirely up to you and we will respect your choice.
We will respect your privacy and treat you fairly.
We will be particularly careful and sensitive when engaging with vulnerable people and reflect this in our procedures and practices. We will ensure anyone working on our behalf does so too and we will monitor their work closely.
We will endeavour not to use any images or words that intentionally cause distress or anxiety and take care not to cause nuisance or disruption to the public.
We will always be thankful for your donation.
We will keep your personal and financial information safe
Your data will be safe with us. We never sell on your details. Your personal and financial information is held securely and in accordance with the Data Protection Act.
We will be accountable and transparent
We will openly and truthfully provide details about our work, including financial information so you can see how your money is supporting patients and families across Herefordshire and beyond. For every pound donated £0.76 is available to delivering expert care and support to patients and families.
We will keep you up to date on the difference your support makes to our care.
We are committed to operating our fundraising to the highest standards
We are registered with the Fundraising Regulator and are committed to the Code of Practice. At all times we champion honesty, responsibility, respect and transparency in our fundraising.
We display the Fundraising Regulator Badge on fundraising materials to show our commitment to good practice.
We will only work with professional fundraising organisations that meet our high standards and we monitor them closely. If we find any cause for concern, we will investigate matters urgently.
We will listen and learn
