St Michael’s Hospice is thrilled to share that they are returning to beautiful Hay-on-Wye this spring with a new charity shop opening in the town’s Craft Centre.
Located just over the Herefordshire border, Hay-on-Wye is known as the World’s First Book Town and is famous for its impressive literary festival which attracts over 100,000 visitors each year. Our new shop at the Craft Centre is conveniently located opposite the Tourist Information Centre and next to the Oxford Street Car Park. It will offer a range of pre-loved items, including clothing, vintage, books, craft, and bric-a-brac.
The shop will be open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5pm and donations can be dropped off during these times. Please note that due to the size of this shop, we are unable to accept donations of furniture or large items.
We are excited to share that our official opening date will be Friday 5th April 2024! We will be open from 10:00 to 17:00 and hope you can join us to browse this great shop and enjoy some refreshments.

If you have a passion for retail or sustainable fashion, consider pledging some of your time as a shop volunteer! With lots of different volunteer positions available at the shop, from till operators to stock sorters, there are plenty of ways you can get involved. Training is provided and you are welcome to attend a taster session first to discover the best role for you.

Do you have items you’d like to donate? Once open, customers will be able to donate items during opening hours (Monday to Saturday, 9am – 5pm). Please note that due to the size of this shop, we are sadly unable to accept large items or furniture.
