My holiday of a lifetime is possible thanks to St Michael’s Hospice

For Marie Davies, winning the St Michael’s Hospice Lottery jackpot means she can look forward to her holiday of a lifetime.

Marie is off to Iceland after Christmas, and says the £1,000 win will ensure she has the best time.

“It’s always been at the top of my list to go to Iceland,” said Marie.

“I’d already booked the holiday before hearing about my win, but with the cost of living, it has been a struggle to get the money together to spend whilst out there. This means I can really go there and enjoy it, so it’s come at exactly the right time.”

Marie has a very close connection to St Michael’s. Her partner died from cancer a couple of years ago. He was cared for at home by our Hospice at Home team.

“The staff who came out to us were just angels,” added Marie.

“I really wanted to put something back as a thank you to St Michael’s, which is why I joined the Lottery.

“I didn’t expect to win though. I never win anything!”
