Mindfulness

Engaging in mindfulness empowers us to navigate life’s challenges and stresses, fostering an appreciation for the unique offerings of each present moment. It may help us manage challenges by changing our perspectives and developing calm and creative responses.

The goal of mindfulness is to become aware of the inner workings of our mental, emotional, and physical processes.

How Mindfulness can help

Mindfulness can bring about long-term changes in mood and increase levels of happiness and wellbeing.

It focuses on forms of meditation which include concentrating your attention on the sensations of your breath and body.

St Michael’s offers patients, their family and carers, plus members of the wider community, access to Mindfulness. This is through one-to-one meetings, taster sessions, courses and all-day practices.

What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness offers the possibility of noticing and feeling happiness as we become more fully appreciative of each moment.

The NHS’s NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) guidelines advocates the use of Mindfulness in dealing with stress, anxiety and depression, helping us enjoy life more.

Mindfulness is increasingly used for those living with both acute and chronic pain, and long-term illness.

Why choose St Michael's?
