St Michael’s supporter Matt Ridgway will soon be swapping Herefordshire for the Himalayas.

Adventurous Matt will take on the biggest challenge of them all – climbing to Everest Base Camp and the Three Passes.

In preparation for the trip of a lifetime, Matt has travelled to Greece to scale Mt Mytikas, the highest peak of Mt Olympus.

His motivation is the care St Michael’s provided his wife, Jacqui, during her time at the Hospice last August.

“Thanks to these fabulous people, the last two weeks of Jacqui’s life whilst battling pancreatic cancer were largely pain free and spent in beautiful surroundings, meaning she was at peace at the end,” said Matt.

The Everest trip will be extra special as he will mark Jacqui’s birthday whilst over there.

Matt’s original fundraising target was to raise £5,000, but he has already raised almost £7,500!
