Luke’s marathon fundraiser

Hospice supporter Luke Delaney is preparing for his most challenging fundraiser to date after his London Marathon hopes were put on hold.

Luke is part of a group of runners from Newent taking on their own marathon around the Gloucestershire town on Sunday, 4thOctober.

He is raising money for St Michael’s and passed his initial £500 target within a week of setting up an online giving page.

‘It’s my first marathon and so I could think of no better way to mark it than by running for St Michael’s,’ he said.

Luke’s mother-in-law, Rachel Folly, was cared for by St Michael’s. She died back in 2004.

He was hoping to complete this year’s London Marathon but due to its postponement his place will be deferred.
