Lottery winners’ call ‘out of the blue’

Cal Hendry only joined our Lottery as a way to contribute regularly to her Hospice, but on Friday she became our latest £1,000 jackpot winner.

‘The call came right out of the blue,’ she said. ‘We were on our way to Pembrokeshire to celebrate my husband’s birthday at the time.

‘It was a real surprise; even more so for my husband who didn’t even know I’d joined the Lottery!’

Cal has relatives who have been supported by Hospices elsewhere in the country, so appreciates the valuable work carried out by St Michael’s.

She says she would like to use some of her winnings to treat staff and patients on our Inpatient Unit to afternoon tea and cake at some point in the future.
