Volunteer Angie loves spending time helping our grounds bloom.
So imagine how happy she was when her best friend, Suzanne, joined her in the garden as part of her employee’s charity day.
“I’ve loved it so much, and spending time with Angie made it extra special,” said Suzanne, who last year gave up a day to help our housekeepers.
“A mutual friend of Angie and I died at St Michael’s, so I’m very happy to be playing a very small part, just by weeding and pruning, in something that brings joy to so many people.”
Angie recently joined the volunteer gardening team as a thank you to St Michael’s following the care given to her mum, Ann.
“Mum died at home and volunteering is my way of saying thank you to the staff for their wonderful care,” said Angie.
“I just love gardening. Mum did too, and when I’m here in the garden, I always feel she is with me.”
