“I wasn’t feeling too well before being told I’d won the St Michael’s Hospice Lottery. Afterwards I was on cloud nine.”

Bronwen Roberts says she will donate some of her £1,000 winnings from the St Michael’s Hospice Lottery back to the charity, and even allowed herself a spending spree.

“After receiving the cheque, I went to each of the charity shops in Bromyard, where I live, and bought something in all of them,” she said.

“I nearly hit the floor when I found out I’d won. I was just stunned and completely overwhelmed.”

Bronwen is passionate about causes which help those with cancer, and with good reason.

“When I was 20, I had twins; a boy and a girl,” she said. “Sadly, Andrew died at just 19 months-old from cancer. It devastated my life. Then in 2010, I lost my mum to cancer. I will always try to support anything which helps people who have the disease, and I know St Michael’s is such a good cause.”
