Role Purpose
Can you provide a reliable delivery of items to Pathology Reception and collection of pharmacy orders from Hereford County Hospital Pharmacy, for patients in the Inpatient Unit at St Michael’s Hospice. You will be providing a support service, to the Inpatients Department as one of our regular Volunteer Pharmacy Drivers on Mondays and alternate Wednesday’s weekly. Role involves collection of samples from 2.30pm onwards on Mondays and alternate Wednesdays, with collection of Pharmacy items from Hereford County Hospital for St Michael’s Hospice Inpatients by return.
What we’re looking for
Our volunteers provide transportation of vital supplies to and from St Michael’s Hospice. Whether you already have experience or want to learn, these are some of the tasks you would help with:
- transporting medication and supplies to and from locations in and around Hereford.
- Having a fully insured vehicle with a valid MOT certificate (if using your own vehicle).
- Attend role specific training as required.
- maintain awareness and compliance with St Michael’s Hospice policies, guidelines and values.
About You.
This volunteering opportunity would be ideal for an individual who:
- Has a clean valid driving licence.
Here at St. Michael’s hospice, our volunteers are vital to our cause. To provide the positive environment that we are renowned for, we need volunteers who:
- Have a pleasant and patient attitude towards hospice suppliers.
- Be a safe and capable driver.
All patient transportation driver volunteers will be expected undergo a driving licence check through the DVLA, a car insurance check and a DBS Check (standard level), both carried out by St Michael’s Hospice.
Must be over 21yrs and have a licence over 1 year old. Must be named on the organisation insurance policy if over 70 years
