Take a leisurely stroll through this unique garden, wrapped around the house and divided into several contrasting areas. On entry, a woodland-inspired space features two mature beech trees, setting a calm, shaded tone. Beyond this, a contemporary garden with stepping stones and water features offers a modern twist, while a pergola with a barbecue leads to a delightful Winnie the Pooh-themed garden.
A large, well-stocked garden follows, featuring two ponds connected by a waterfall, with resident call ducks adding charm and movement. The tour concludes in the productive fruit and vegetable area, complete with a small orchard of 12 fruit trees and two chickens.
This is a garden in progress rather than a pristine showpiece, more a haven for plant collectors than a perfectly designed landscape offering visitors a chance to enjoy creativity, curiosity, and the joy of growing things.
Explore the diverse spaces, enjoy the playful and natural features, and soak up the garden’s relaxed, inspiring atmosphere. Treat yourself to delicious homemade cakes and a cup of tea, available for purchase from St Michael’s Hospice. With free parking available, courtesy of John Masefield High School just a 3–4 minute walk from the garden and dogs on leads welcome, it’s the perfect outdoor escape for the whole family.
Please note: unfortunately, this garden is not wheelchair accessible.
