Our specialised palliative care physiotherapists play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our patients, aiding in maximising their mobility and well-being while fostering independence and fullness of life to the greatest extent possible.

What we do:

Our physiotherapists customise programs based on individual needs and objectives, assisting patients in restoring and enhancing mobility, strength, and flexibility through gentle exercises. Serious illnesses and treatment side effects can often lead to debilitating symptoms such as mobility issues, breathlessness, muscle weakness, pain, balance problems, fatigue, and anxiety. Our physiotherapists provide support to patients across various settings, including our Inpatient Unit and state-of-the-art gym at the Hospice, utilising specialised equipment.

Physiotherapy aims to improve or maintain physical function and support patient’s to live their lives to its full potential. Physiotherapy can address common symptoms such as:

  • Mobility and functional problems
  • Breathing Difficulties
  • Muscle weakness
  • Neurological impairment
  • Fatigue
  • Pain

Make a referral

Patients can be referred to the Physiotherapy team at the Hospice either by their GP, community nurse specialist, district nurse, hospital doctor or consultant.
