Hereford Contract Canning raise over £2k for their Hospice

Staff at Hereford Contract Canning nominated St Michael’s Hospice as their charity beneficiary – and have gone on to raise more than £2,600.

A large chunk of this was collected through a raffle. The rest came in the form of donations made in memory of an employee who died in November having been cared for by St Michael’s.

“Hereford Contract Canning employees nominate local charities to be supported by the business, with one selected by ballot. For 2021/2022, that charity was St Michael’s Hospice,” said HCC’s site director, Richard Leach.

“Employees and close suppliers are encouraged to take part in fundraising events during the year, with the final amount matched by the company.

“Many of our staff have personal experience of the valuable care provided by St Michael’s, most recently last year when our colleague was cared for by the Hospice.”

Richard (pictured right) visited St Michael’s to hand over the money to Simon Kershaw, our Events & Community Fundraising Officer.

“Everyone at St Michael’s would like to thank Richard and his team for raising such a wonderful sum of money,” said Simon.

“This donation will help St Michael’s continue to provide care to families across our community who are living with a terminal illness.”
