Our fundraising promise

Our supporters are at the heart of what we do. You help us to care for people with a life-limiting illness, and to support families facing unimaginable heartache. In supporting us, you send a powerful message that you care about people and the society we live in. We will show you the same care and respect.

We will be human

We will only contact you in a way that you are happy with. If you tell us that you’d prefer less contact; for us to contact you in a different way; or don’t want to hear from us again, we will respect your wishes.

We will always be thankful for your donation. And we will not put any undue pressure on you to make a donation. If you do not want to give, or you wish to stop giving, that’s entirely up to you. We will treat you fairly. We will ensure anyone working on our behalf does so too and we will monitor their work closely.

We will keep your details safe

We will keep your personal information safe. We will not sell or share your personal details with other charities. We never have. Your personal and financial information is held securely and in accordance with the Data Protection Act.

We will be accountable and transparent

For every £5 you donate to St Michael’s Hospice, £4 helps us to care for patients and support their loved ones, and £1 helps us to raise the next vital £5. Your investment secures our help for the future to anyone who needs it. We will let you know how your support is making a difference (should you wish) and answer all your questions about fundraising, as much as we are able.

We have high standards and are committed

We adhere to the Code of Fundraising Practice and Fundraising Regulation. In fact we strive to exceed it wherever we can so you can ‘Give with Confidence’.

However, we know mistakes can happen and we actively encourage people to let us know of any problems they have encountered so we can sort them out quickly.

Making a comment or complaint

What you think is important. If you want to make a suggestion or make a complaint then we will welcome it. If you are unhappy telling us allows us to make it right quickly. To contact us about anything in Our Promise please email: info@st-michaels-hospice.org.uk, or call on 01432 851000.

If we cannot resolve your complaint, we accept the authority of the independent Fundraising Regulator to make a final adjudication. To find out more about the Fundraising regulator, please visit www.fundraisingregulator.org.uk.
