It’s this love that makes St Michael’s Hospice so special and means that everyone who needs us can feel at home in building that is always a place of light and love.

Legacies of all sizes are vital for St Michael’s Hospice: they help us to continue providing all our services free of charge. Legacies help secure the future of the Hospice and account for approximately 20% of our indispensable voluntary income.

If you already have a Will and would now like to alter it to include a gift to St Michael’s, thank you. We are incredibly grateful.

The only way to change your Will is to add a codicil (which amends your Will, rather than replacing it) or to replace your Will. Like a Will, a codicil needs to be printed, properly witnessed, and stored with your Will to be valid. If you choose to leave a bequest, please state St Michael’s Hospice, Hereford, Registered Charity No. 511179.

We have a free Codicil form available for you to print here.

If you would like any help with making a change, please get in touch with the Legacy team who would be more than happy to help you.

Writing a Will is one of the most important parts of planning for the end of life. It shouldn’t be scary or something you always put off. It doesn’t matter if you’re 18 or 98, it’s an essential part of making sure that the people and causes you care about are looked after when you’re gone.

Here at St Michael’s we offer a free online Will writing service. We’ve partnered with Bequeathed to offer this service for free to St Michael’s Hospice supporters in England and Wales, with no obligation to leave a gift in your Will. However, many of our supporters do choose to recognise St Michael’s Hospice with a gift, in recognition of a cause they care deeply about. If you leave 10% or more of your net estate to charity, you can choose to pay a reduced Inheritance Tax.
