Saddle up and make this summer a spoke-tacular one for yourself and St Michael’s Hospice.

During the cycling extravaganza that is the Tour de France, we’re inviting all Hospice supporters to experience the joy of two wheels, while collecting sponsorship for St Michael’s.

You can ride as far as you like as often as you want during the 24-day event, whether you’re based in Herefordshire or further afield.

This exclusive event will have a limited number of entrants.

Everyone taking part will receive a Tour de Hereford medal. A St Michael’s Hospice cycling jersey will be on offer to anyone raising more than £80 in sponsorship.

There will also be prizes across a number of categories. Full details are below in the ‘Prizes’ tab. You must raise at least £5 in sponsorship to be eligible for a prize.

We would love you to join us at St Michael’s Hospice on the final day of the Tour de France on Sunday 24th July for a ride out with fellow Tour de Hereford participants. More details in due course.

For now though, just pick a target distance and let us know whether you plan to join us on 24th July.

There is an £8 entry fee per cyclist

After registering, you will be invited to join the St Michael’s Hospice event group on Strava where all riders must log their Tour de Hereford rides.

Strava is free to register and if you need any assistance, please get in touch with us by emailing events@smhospicehereford.org
You can add your Strava distances to your Justgiving page (link here once activated) page which is a great way to keep your donors up to date with your progress.

You can also join our Tour de Hereford Support Group on Facebook where you’ll meet other Tour de Hereford cyclists. This page will be the place for you to share hints, tips and routes with others, and get in touch with the Events and Community team at St Michael’s Hospice, 01432 851 000.

The Facebook group is also where you’ll find the published weekly results from each distance.

You can cycle as far as you like. If a gentle ten kilometres is your limit, do that. If you like to be on the road for a few hours each day, don’t let us stop you.

This is a challenge that can be completed over the course of the Tour de France.

The distances below may help you decide the length of your challenge.

40km – Cycle the equivalent distance around the outskirts of Hereford City. A good target for very young children.

150km – Cycle the equivalent distance between all of Herefordshire’s market towns. Children aged 8+ and/or novice adults.

400km – Cycle the equivalent distance from Hereford to Calais. Regular adult cyclists.

700km – Cycle the distance from Hereford to Paris. Club cyclists.

Medals will be awarded to all those taking part.

For those into a bit of healthy competition we’ve added additional optional challenges to whet your appetite. To be eligible for these prizes, we ask that you raise at least £5 in sponsorship. Prizes listed below.
