On your marks, get set, Ho Ho Ho. The Hereford Santa Run brings a flash of red to the City centre with hundreds of runners dressed as Santa Claus to spread festive fun and burn a few cheeky calories for the holidays.

We have made some recent changes this year, keeping the fun and keeping you safe. Please read if you are taking part:

Updated 10th December 2021

Due to the surge in the Omicron variant of Covid-19, we have activated a Plan B for our Santa Run to avoid a large crowd at the start and finish lines. We have a responsibility to keep you, our staff & volunteers as well as the wider public safe.

  • Participants will be able to collect their Santa suits from one of our city centre retail stores or have it posted
  • Participants will complete their own distance/route or pick one of our pre-defined routes starting at any time in the morning they wish to but making sure they cross the finish line before 11.30am
  • Participants will finish at Maylord Orchards anytime between 10am – 11.30am to get their medal, water and sweet treat

It’s time to get your suit!

If you are a participant this year and you haven’t already received your suit, please collect your Santa outfit/s from either one of our Hereford retail stores; Holmer Road or Whitecross Road from Tuesday 14th December.

With your Santa Suit ready ahead of Sunday 19th December you will be able to complete your own route, or complete one of our pre-defined routes, two of which are very similar to the planned routes. You can start your run at any time but should aim to finish at Maylord Orchards between 10am and 11.30am. The reduced Events Team will be on hand to give you your medal and goodies as well as take your finish line photo.

You’ll be setting your own starting line and route or using one of our pre-defined routes with all 300 Santa’s starting everywhere and anywhere across Hereford!

This approach keeps you all safe but also creates an exciting scattering of Santa’s everywhere you look.

Start Time: Anytime you like! As long as you finish at Maylord Orchards between 10am and 11.30am to collect your medal.

Routes: Choose between our 5K or 2.5K pre-defined routes or set your own. After crossing the finish line anytime between 10am – 11.30am, each runner will receive a medal, bottle of water, and sweet treat.

There’s no prizes for winning so you’re welcome to walk, jog or run your way around whichever course you choose. The main thing is to have some festive fun, dressed up as Santa and raising vital funds for St Michael’s Hospice.

We would love you to raise sponsorship money in support of St Michael’s Hospice. Asking family and friends to sponsor you can be a fun and rewarding way to shout about your challenge or event and to raise awareness of our Hospice.

Your sponsorship money goes directly to providing care for those who need it most, whenever they may need it. Our care goes far beyond the patient too. Did you know that we support families and children in bereavement and dealing with a terminally ill loved-one?

Every penny we receive really makes a tangible difference to someone’s life so anything you can raise, how ever small, has a big impact.

You can download a paper sponsorship form from the top of this page, or you can click the button below and send the URL out to your supporters.

For those raising over £52, some Christmas Elves have let us some goody bags filled with treats to say thank you for going that little bit further.

We’ll have some additional festive accessories for you to buy on the day. All items are subject to stock availability.
