In the run-up to Christmas, we’re asking your little darlings to dash around their school field or playground while getting sponsored for St Michael’s Hospice.

Choose the date, distance and location – it could be a brisk walk around the playground, or a gentle jog on the school field – and we’ll help prepare the rest.

Then just don your reindeer antlers and nose and join Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donder and Blitzen – or whatever your school friends are called – for this free event which puts the fun into fundraising.

Tell everyone you’re taking part in the Reindeer Run and make sure you get sponsored and help St Michael’s Hospice continue caring to make a difference this Christmas.

There’s also an opportunity to raise funds for your school.

You know your setting and your children better than anyone, so we’ll leave it up to you where you have your course, how far the children run or walk, and when the event takes place.

Perhaps you might do a class or a year group at a time, or everyone together, depending on your numbers. You could decide to run the event as part of your PE lessons, or when you do your ‘Daily Mile’.

You might do one lap of the playground or allow the children to do as many laps as they wish. As long as all those taking part wear their Reindeer nose and antlers and collect sponsorship, it will be part of our Reindeer Run.

You will need to make sure you follow your setting’s Health and Safety policy, plus any current COVID-19 guidelines from the Government.

We are closely monitoring Government guidelines and are hopeful that everyone will be able to join in and have some reindeer fun.

Should social distancing rules change in November or December, we will also be providing lots of ideas and inspiration for how you can join in virtually, and in households.
