Brand-new Donation Centre Opens at Whitestone

St Michael's Hospice's new Donation Centre opens on Thursday 22nd February.

We are excited to announce that our new Donation Centre is now open!

Initially open four days a week, the Donation Centre will be the heart of our donation services across Herefordshire, allowing us to sort, up-cycle and curate your pre-loved items to sell at Whitestone or distribute to our other shops across the county. Your donations help us continue to provide free hospice care to over 2,000 people across Herefordshire each year, so we have designed this space to make donating even easier for you.

The launch of the Whitestone Donation Centre marks the first phase of our exciting transformation of this site from furniture warehouse and showroom to community-focused space with shop, café, and upcycling centre. The next phase of this project, the opening of our shop and café, is due to be completed this spring.

Where is it and when can I visit?

Our Donation Centre is situated at the rear of our Whitestone site (HR1 3SE), which is just off the A4103 Hereford to Worcester Road. It is easily accessible from both Hereford and the surrounding areas.

Donations can be dropped off from 9.00am – 5.00pm, Thursday to Saturday and from 10.00am to 4:00pm on Sundays. Please note that the Donation Centre will be closed on Easter Sunday (31st March 2024).

What can I donate?

This location will accept good quality pre-loved items including furniture, clothing, bric-a-brac, toys, books and media, and bridal and occasion wear. With plenty of convenient parking just outside the door, bringing your unwanted treasures to us is even easier.

You can find the full list of what we accept here.

What can’t I donate?

Are you looking to donate any of these items? We really appreciate your kind donations, but sadly, there are some items that we are unable to sell, including:

  • Broken or damaged goods
  • Furniture without a fire or hazard label
  • Electronics without a CE label
  • Unsealed cosmetics
  • Helmets
  • Knives

You can find the full list here. Please check before you donate – we would hate for you to have a wasted journey.

If you have any questions about the Donation Centre, please contact our Whitestone team via whitestone@smhospicehereford.org
