Beautiful day for a memory walk

Scott Balderson made the most of yesterday’s glorious weather by walking 17 miles in memory of his close friend, Phill Price, who died earlier this year.

Scott had witnessed the care given to Phill (pictured, inset) by staff at St Michael’s and was so impressed he decided to challenge himself to a 17-mile walk to raise funds for the Hospice.

Yesterday’s walk took him along the canal path from Gloucester to Sharpness, on the banks of the River Severn.

He set out to raise £500 but his generous friends, family and work colleagues have ensured £1,100 has been collected online, with more cash donations to follow.
