Chef (Part Time)

About The Role

Are you looking for a career in catering? We are looking for an creative and confident Chef who can inspire those within their team. The Catering Team are involved in every area of the charity.  Not only providing the very best meals to our patients and their families, but also the staff and volunteers who give the care and support.  It doesn’t end there, our fundraising team put on events that need a broad spectrum of catering. As a Chef you will supervise, cook and prepare food for all users of St Michael’s Hospice; and to provide a catering service for the café and hospice events. You will be ultimately responsible for Supervising catering assistants, volunteers and kitchen porters. You will be based primarily at our Bartestree site and on early or late shifts.  We are a 7-day service so there will be some weekend work and occasional event cover. Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays also have an unsocial hours payment.This role is on a 7-day service rotation, therefore weekend working will be required. Saturday payment at basic salary +33.33% Sunday payment at basic salary +66.66% Being based at the Bartestree site the position will include contact with service users, therefore offers of employment will be subject to satisfactory DBS checks.
