Pick your distance
The 55-Miler
A circular route around rural Herefordshire, starting and finishing at the Shell Store in Rotherwas. Heading from the Shell Store in a southeast direction through Dinedor and out to Mordiford. Cycling out to Much Cowarne where you will turn right to Bosbury and start your loop back to the Shell Store. Making your way through Woolhope, Fownhope, Mordiford and down Hampton Park Road before crossing the river and hitting the finish line at the Shell Store. Perfect for keen cyclists that want to challenge themselves and support St Michael’s Hospice.
The 34-Miler
This circular route taking in some of Herefordshire’s beautiful countryside and charming villages. Perfect for families with teenage children or non-cyclists wanting to challenge themselves. Heading from the Shell Store in a southeast direction through Dinedor and out to Mordiford. Cycling out to Much Cowarne where you will turn right before Fromes Hill starting to make your way back passing through Yarkhill and returning to Mordiford. You will then stay north side of the river heading down Hampton Park Road then crossing the river to reach the finish at the Shell Store.
The 11.5 Miler
This circular route is perfect for beginner cyclists or family’s wanting to do something different. Heading in a southeasterly direction from the Shell Store through Holme Lacy and Mordiford. You will then head left down Larport Lane when reaching the bottom of Lugwardine where you’ll be on the home stretch. Heading up Lug flats, through Tupsley before crossing the river to the finish line at the Shell Store.
The Wheelie Little
The Wheelie little is the perfect 1km route for the little legs wanting to get involved. They will head out through the start line, down the side of the Shell Store Car park heading out the entrance to the Shell Store which will be closed from traffic before turning onto the cycle path where they will start their journey to the finish line, around the edge of the Shell store building.

Ticket Restrictions:
- All children must be accompanied by a participating adults
- This is an endurance event, so please seek medical advice if you are unsure if you should participate
- This is a cycle event; you must have experience on a bike to participate
- All participants must wear a helmet whilst on bikes
- Bikes with stabilisers and trikes are allowed, however, balance bikes are not permitted
- Ticket sales close on 28th September unless sold out before
There’s something for everyone at the Wheelie Big Event! All routes follow roads and cycle paths—no off-roading required—making it accessible for a wide range of riders.
Marshals, signposts, and a back rider will be on hand to help guide you, but please remember the roads will remain open, so ride with care.
You’ll find refreshment points along the way to grab some water and an energy boost to keep you going. At the finish line, you’ll receive your medal, a drink, and a snack to celebrate your achievement.
This is a fun, non-competitive ride—no race, no finish times, just enjoyment. First aid will be available across the route if needed.
We would love you to get as much sponsorship as you can for your Cycle! Every penny raised helps us to care for more people across Herefordshire. You can gather sponsorship using our easy JustGiving page, and you can send the link to friends and family to support you.
Everyone who raises over £25 in sponsorship will receive a free Wheelie Big Cycle water bottle!
Please note the following terms and conditions:
- Riders take full responsibility for themselves for the duration of the event
- Riders are expected to abide by the Highway Code throughout the event
- All children under 16 years old must be accompanied by a participating adults (over 18 years old) and remain the responsibility of that adult throughout the event
- All children and adults participating must always wear a helmet whilst cycling
- The routes are all on the roads so please make sure you are vigilant of moving traffic and use clear signals, cycle lanes where necessary and abide by the Highway Code
- We can’t be held responsible for damage, loss or theft of your bike or personal items
