Sue Parry ‘Super Sixes’ football tournament

A firm favourite in our Events calendar, the Sue Parry ‘Super Sixes’ football tournament returns in 2018 bigger and better than ever before.

This all-day event on Hereford’s Widemarsh Common, made possible thanks to the kind support of Hereford Lads Club, features a junior section tournament followed by the city’s premier adult competition.

Junior Tournament

Registration is at 9am with pitch allocations and a free programme for each team.

The first matches at 9.30am will be officiated by qualified referees.

Each age group has 10 teams competing in two pools of 5* with the top team from each pool advancing to the final, with the chance to win the title of ‘Super Sixes’ champions for 2018.

All age group teams are supported by on-site first aiders.

Age group categories: Under 9 boys, Under 10 boys, Under 11 & 12 boys, Under 13 girls.

The finals will be played at 12.10pm with the presentations at 12.30pm. Each winning team will receive a medal. All finalists will receive a certificate.

Cost: £15 per team with a maximum of nine players

Senior Tournament

A feast of football awaits at this year’s tournament.

From established sides to groups of mates, the wide range of teams help make the tournament a day to remember.

This year, the tournament winners will be presented with £120 cash thanks to sponsorship partners All Star Activities and First Step Footy increasing their commitment to the competition.

Registration opens at 12.30pm with pitch allocations and a free programme for each team.

The first matches at 1pm will be officiated by qualified referees.

Each team will be playing in a group of six with a minimum of five matches*. The top two teams from the tournament’s eight pools will progress into the Last 16 knockout stages. The winners of the final will be presented with £120 in cash.

The knockout stages are due to start at 4.50pm with the final concluding at 6pm.

Cost: £30 per team with a maximum of 8 players.

VIP Players

For the first time, a VIP area will be in place this year.

For an additional £18 per team, you will have access to the fenced-off VIP area, complete with gazebo, chairs and tables. You’ll also get nearside pitch allocation meaning you’re close to the pitch you’ll be playing on, as well as being a stone’s throw from the commentary, results boards, toilets and refreshments area.

There will even be a masseur on hand to keep your team fresh and relaxed between games.~

Cost: £48 per team for entry plus VIP

During the day: Refreshments will be available, including an ice cream machine and barbecue. There will also be commentary and bouncy castles, helping make the junior tournament fun for players and siblings alike.
