Information for professionals

St Michael’s Hospice is the major provider of palliative care education and training within Herefordshire. We work closely with organisations, teams and individual professionals to provide appropriate educational opportunities designed to encourage learning, understanding and confidence in all aspects of caring for and supporting both patients and their families.

Did you know your old socks are worth £100,000? Well not just your socks actually, any old clothing or linen that’s not in good enough condition to be offered for re-sale in one of our charity shops can be given to the Hospice for recycling

The Hospice currently has 400 yellow collecting tins in and around Herefordshire. One is emptied every day and, on average, contains £54 which totals almost £20,000 annually - enough money to pay for a nurse for a year.

About us

We are an independent charity and all our services are given free. It costs over £12,000 per day to provide these services and we rely on around 90% of our funding from the community.
