When can I visit a patient?
We embrace open visiting hours at St Michael’s, allowing visitors to spend time with patients without any restrictions on timing or the number of visitors, but always respecting the patient’s preferences.
We try our best to keep bugs to a minimum so would ask that if you have any sypmtoms of cold, flu, covid, nausea & sickness or diarrhoea that you do not visit. It’s really important that we keep our patients, staff and visitors safe.
For further information and advice, please call Reception on: 01432 851000
Can children visit?
We love to see children at the Hospice, and we welcome children of all ages. Whilst here, there are refreshments available within the cafe and we have ample outdoor space.
All pathways and walkways are accessible for pushchairs and buggies. If you are exploring the garden, please keep to the paths and ensure children do not climb on the structures.
We also have a children’s and teenage room at the Hospice with games, toys and books as well as comfy seating.
Can pets visit?
We love welcoming furry, feathered and scaly friends to St Michael’s! We recognise the power of pet ‘therapy’ to aid stimulation and communication. Patients tell us that getting a visit from their pet improves their well-being, lessens the rate of anxiety, simply by making the environment happier, more enjoyable and less frightening.
We’d always ask that you ring ahead to let us know a pet is coming to visit so that we can make sure that we can accommodate their needs.
Please keep any pets under control and, if using the gardens, please keep to the paths with dogs on leads and clean up after them.
Where do I park?
When you arrive at the Hospice, please adhere to the 10mph speed limit on-site and follow the signs to patient & visitor parking.
We have ample parking at the Hospice including bicycle, motorbike and disabled parking bays. For electric vehicles, we also have three EV charging bays where your vehicle can be charged for a small cost.
Please do not leave valuables in vehicles, as we cannot be held responsible for loss or damage.
Once you are parked, please follow the marked pathways and zebra crossings to the main entrance.
If you require any assistance getting from your vehicle to the main entrance, please call and let us know and someone will come to assist you.
