Whitfield opens St Michael's Open Gardens programme

Whitfield opens St Michael’s Open Gardens programme

Fifteen acres of garden set amidst the rolling Herefordshire countryside will open for St Michael’s Hospice next month.

It’s the first time Whitfield House garden near Wormbridge will be raising money for the Bartestree-based Hospice.

The event, on Sunday 16th May, will also be the first of St Michael’s Open Gardens dates in 2021.

‘It’s a pleasure to be supporting St Michael’s and we’re all looking forward to the day,’ said Tamsin Clive from Whitfield.

‘I’m fully aware of the excellent care the Hospice provides. A great friend of mine sadly died at the end of last year and the wonderful care provided to her and her family by the Hospice at Home team was remarkable.

‘I’m also a Trustee of the Eveson Charitable Trust which has given significant support to St Michael’s for many years.’

On the day, visitors can explore 15 acres of formal and informal gardens, all packed with history.

Gaze in wonder at a 1780 champion gingko tree, and enjoy a string of lakes surrounded by magnolias, plus coastal redwoods.

Those attending will also be treated to performances by the Wye Valley Falconry display team at 3pm and 4pm.

The Hospice is advising anyone wishing to attend to book in advance for a reduced price of £5.
