Whitecross Road Car Parks
Planned changes
Earlier this month, following feedback from you, our wonderful customers, we began making changes to the layout of our car parks to improve traffic flow, increase accessibility and make this space easier for you to navigate. This includes construction work to increase car parking spaces, the addition of new parking bays and new signage.
We are working hard to minimise disruption, and the shop will remain open as usual for our customers throughout. Work is expected to be completed by the beginning of June.
These changes will see our rear car park at Whitecross Road become our main Customer Car Park (see map) while our front car park will be reserved for Blue Badge Holders and donation drop off.
How will the changes impact me?
We are working hard to ensure as minimal impact to our customers as possible. The shop will be open as usual during our improvements with access to both our main entrance and donation centre unaffected.
Work begins to the front car park on Tuesday 5th May, starting with updating the parking bays at the front of our front car park. Customers are recommended to park in the rear car park due to limited parking during this work. Access to the front entrance of the shop will not be affected. Please note that areas of the front car park will be cordoned off but that there will still be access to our Donation Centre and main shop entrance. We expect this work to be complete by mid-May.
Line painting will commence on 6th June with limited access to each car park while painting occurs. However, the paint is quick drying and alternative parking will be available in other areas.
Where do park?
During the work, we recommend that customers park in the rear car park at Whitecross Road where there will be more car parking spaces available. The entrance to this car park is on the left-hand-side of the shop building, in between the shop and the laundrette next door. Our Blue Badge Holder parking space in the front car park will remain accessible during the work.
Once work is completed, here is where you’ll need to park:
Front Car Park:
Park here for if you’re dropping off donations (15 minute parking) or you are a Blue Badge holder. Our front car park will be a dedicated zone for donation drop-offs and accessible parking. We’re adding three Blue Badge Holder parking spaces at the front of this car park, while the spaces at the rear will be for customers dropping off donations.
Rear Car Park:
Park here when you’re shopping with us. The parking area at the rear of the shop (accessed from Whitecross Road on the left of the building) will become our main customer car park. We are adding extra parking spaces, clearer signage and, for ease of access into the shop, a side door into the shop will be open for customers to use from 14th May.
