David Morriss says winning our Hospice Lottery jackpot has boosted he and his fiance’s wedding fund – although he’d initially set his sights on using the £1,000 for something else.

“My immediate reaction to the win was to put it towards a new road bike, but my fiancé Kate’s reaction was somewhat different, so the bike will have to wait,” said David. “The wedding/honeymoon fund is, however, £1,000 healthier!”

David says the win “came as a welcomed shock”, adding he always regarding his membership of the Lottery as a donation to “a meaningful and worthwhile local cause”.

“I visited the Hospice for the first time in many years last September when unfortunately, my ex-wife passed away. The care and support my children received from the Hospice staff was incredibly comforting at an extremely distressful and emotional time. It’s clear that the Hospice plays a vital role in the community, offering not just medical care, but also emotional support and a peaceful environment, making a profound impact during distressing times.”

You too can support us by playing the St Michael’s Hospice Lottery.
Each Friday, one of our players will win the £1,000 jackpot, and there are plenty of other cash prizes to be won, too.
