Second jackpot win for Lottery player Barbara

Second jackpot win for Lottery player Barbara

A St Michael’s Hospice Lottery player who scooped the jackpot just before Christmas two years ago has won again – just days before her birthday.

Barbara Powell joked that “things do come in three’s” when asked whether she thought she might win £1,000 for a third time.

“I feel so lucky to have won again,” said Barbara.

“At first, I thought it was a hoax, particularly as it was two days before my birthday. But it was a lovely surprise to have won again. I still can’t believe I won the Christmas before last.”

Barbara is a long-standing supporter of St Michael’s, and regularly attends our Plant Fair and Open Gardens events.

She joined the Lottery after hearing about St Michael’s during her time as a volunteer at the Renton Unit at Hereford County Hospital.

“The patients would often speak about the good work being done by St Michael’s Hospice, so I thought I would support them.

“Over the years, a lot of friends have received care from the Hospice, so I know all about the excellent work that goes on there.”
