Robin's special reason behind Lottery win

Robin’s special reason behind Lottery win

Our latest £1,000 winner says he will pay some of his winnings back – as a thank you for the care St Michael’s gave his wife.

Robin Oaten’s wife, Bridget, died last March. He says his winnings will also help pay for her headstone.

“Bridget benefitted from the Hospice’s Day Services for about two years. She really enjoyed visiting St Michael’s – we both did. It’s just a lovely place to be, and the care provided there is exceptional.”

Bridget enjoyed the assisted bathing service which allowed her to enjoy a relaxing soak in a specially designed, spacious bathroom, with staff on hand to assist.

“Because of the care Bridget received, I wanted to give something to St Michael’s on a regular basis, so joining the St Michael’s Lottery seemed ideal,” added Robin.

“To be told I’d won was very surprising. I’ve never won anything before. I just couldn’t believe it.

“I didn’t sign up to win £1,000, but the money will come in so handy. It will help pay for Bridget’s headstone, but I will also give some of it back to St Michael’s by way of my thank you to them.”
