Postcards from Life – Artist Michael Dent

Artist Michael Dent has submitted six pieces to this year’s Postcards from Life, including this touching watercolour depicting a child hugging and kissing her grandmother.

“It was produced during lockdown and I think it just captured the essence of the time, and how important a simple hug can be,” said Michael, whose wife, Norah, died at St Michael’s six years ago.

“After Norah died, I returned to the Hospice for a few events alongside others going through the same thing, and it was the most comforting way to deal with her passing.

“Since then, I’ve always wanted to take part in Postcards from Life as it’s my way of giving something back to St Michael’s because they do such a wonderful job there.”
