Over 3,000 attend Hellens Garden Festival
Annual two-day Festival has donated almost £120,000 to St Michael’s over the years
About 3,300 people helped make Hellens Garden Festival such a memorable event.
Visitors enjoyed talks, stands, workshops and a good deal of exploring at this beautiful venue in Much Marcle.
Over the course of the Festival’s near 20-year history, Hellens Garden Festival has donated almost £120,000 to St Michael’s.
This money is allowing us to expand our horticultural therapy offering to patients, making the most of our raised planters and our greenhouse which many patients enjoy using to plant fruit, vegetables and flowers.
The benefits of therapeutic horticulture at St Michael’s were brought to life at the Festival by Dr Jim Burtonwood – our Lead Specialist Doctor – and Occupational Therapist Kate Stainsby on the way patients have benefitted from this approach.
