National Apprenticeship Week: Zara and Khayd tell us their story

National Apprenticeship Week: Zara and Khayd tell us their story

It’s National Apprenticeship Week.

Both Zara Phillips and Khayd Saxelby started at St Michael’s as apprentices, and have already moved up the career ladder.

Zara became our first-ever St Michael’s apprentice when she joined the HR team.

Less than two years on, she has completed a Level 2 Business Admin Apprenticeship, started a second apprenticeship, and moved up to the role of HR assistant, where she herself now manages an apprentice.

‘It’s been a great first step to kick-start my career in HR,’ she said.

Khayd Saxelby, meanwhile, started as a Finance Apprentice and, like Zara, has quickly progressed and now holds the title of Finance Assistant.

‘Starting as an apprentice has done wonders for my personal career progression.

‘Not only have I completed essential career qualifications while here, but in less than two years I’ve become a Finance Assistant which has seen me take on more responsibility, in turn helping my personal development.’

We currently have a number of apprentice positions here at St Michael’s. To view them, simply click here https://bit.ly/3jHNYK7
