Mother and daughter to return to UK for Venus

Mother and daughter to return to UK for Venus

This July, mother and daughter Hospice supporters Katherine and Ella Williams will make a flying visit to Herefordshire from their home in Spain.

The reason? To take part in Venus 2022.

This time seven years ago, Katherine was due to take part in RUN Hereford, but instead ran that 5km at St Michael’s to ensure she was close to her mum, Elisabeth, who was being cared for by us.

“It was the hardest 5km run I have EVER done and, I’ve done a lot,” said Katherine.

“Mum died the next day. She had been in and out of the Hospice a couple of times before her final stay. I stayed with her in the Hospice’s IPU for the last five days of her life.”

Elisabeth was very close to Ella, her granddaughter. She died just two days before Ella’s 7th birthday.

“The staff at the hospice were absolute angels,” added Katherine.

“The care continued after mum died. Both Ella and I had the most amazing grief counselling through the Hospice.

“Mum would be so proud of us and what Ella and I have achieved in the past seven years.”

The Venus midnight walk takes place on Friday 15th July.
