Man reunited with treasured family item made 50 years ago – thanks to our ebay site
Rolland Hassall had tears in his eyes after securing pottery vase
A man living in Scotland has thanked St Michael’s for reuniting him with a treasured family item made half a century ago.
Rolland Hassall’s mum, then called Patricia Hassall, made a vintage studio pottery vase in the 1970s under the name of Hassall Pottery, which Patricia set up and ran together with Rolland’s father, Leonard Hassall.
Whilst browsing our eBay page, Rolland discovered the item and was keen to secure it.
“I have tears in my eyes that you have made this possible for me to buy this when I thought it had gone,” said Rolland.
“The pottery was made by my mum when she was Patricia Hassall. She now makes ceramics and paintings, and writes as Dorinda Johnson.
“The reason it means so much to me to get this piece is that it’s signed by her when everything was good when I was a child. It’s really treasure to me to find it as a reminder of happy times.”
