Ludlow Dog Day returns in support of St Michael’s
A great day out for all dog lovers – and all in aid of charity
Over the six years that Ludlow Rotary Club has run its fun Dog Day, the event has allowed them to disburse over £120,000 to a range of charities and organisations that mean a lot to those who live locally. For the last two years Covid has put paid to the event and all charities have suffered.
But now it’s back… it’s finally back! Ludlow Rotary Club’s Annual Dog Day is back again – but this year, in conjunction with Church Stretton Rotary Club, it’s bigger and better than ever!
So this year Ludlow Rotary Club are supporting St Michael’s Hospice, Hereford Ludlow Rotary Cares and Hope House.
On the 24th July Ludlow will be joined by Church Stretton Rotary Club in finally holding the 7th annual fun Dog Day. Once more it is in the beautiful grounds of Stokesay Court, situated approximately 6 miles north of Ludlow and just off the A49.
The emphasis of the day is on fun for all the family, including our furry friends. You will be able to participate in over 20 classes from the scruffiest mutt, the fastest sausage eater, to the best young handler, right up to the best in show. Throughout the day various demonstrations take place with many past favourites including; The Paws for thought and the Paws of Parham display teams, Bliss Gate Obediance and West Glen Heelwork; Nick Burne Blood hounds and many more besides Plus new additions such as Bob Hogg’s Dog and Ducks – a popular draw wherever he and his ducks appear.
There are always a number of Have a go challenges, including dog agility, gun dog scurry and new for this year, fun dog racing.
As well as all the doggy events there are stalls selling canine related goods, a wide range of food stalls, and for those with a thirst there is the popular tea tent, Pimms’ tent and the Hobsons’ Bar. So, if you are looking for a wonderful day out in support of three very good causes, then join us on Sunday 24th July to celebrate our furry friends in all their glory amidst the glorious setting of Stokesay Court, For more information please go to www.ludlowdogday.org.uk or visit our facebook page: Ludlow Rotary.
