Lottery win rekindles memories of "wonderful, calm place" for former St Michael's nurse

Brenda Davis “very pleased” with jackpot win

Nearly 20 years after leaving, former St Michael’s nurse Brenda Davis remains struck by the quality of care she witnessed.

“I loved working there,” she said. “It’s a wonderful, calm place. I’m in my 80s now, but when it comes to it, that’s the place I want to end my days, if I can’t be at home.”

Brenda received a call from our Lottery team telling her she had won our £1,000 Hospice Lottery jackpot.

“I was very pleased to receive the call, and I plan to give some of the winnings back. I’ve had cancer twice, and can’t do some of the things I used to, so I think I’m going to be sensible with the rest and save it, just in case I need it.”
