Hellens Garden Festival donations pass £100k
An annual garden festival has now donated over £100,000 to St Michael’s Hospice since launching 17 years ago.
The staggering figure from Hellens Garden Festival was reached following a £16,100 donation raised during this year’s two-day festival at Hellens Manor in Much Marcle.
Large crowds made the most of the beautiful early Summer weather, enjoying talks from gardening experts, and browsing stalls and stands under the Hellens ethos of showcasing inspirational ideas, organisations and plants for growing our gardens, and sustaining ourselves and the earth.
“It’s an honour to call Hellens Garden Festival a friend of St Michael’s,” said Rachel Jones, the Hospice’s Income Generation, Marketing & Communications Director.
“Their generosity over so many years is extremely humbling, and we are so grateful for their continued commitment to the Hospice.”
Festival organisers have again supported the Back to the Wild CIC, with £4,600 making their way to the Community Interest Company following this year’s Festival.
The theme of this year’s Festival was Transformation.
Returning speakers included gardening experts Tamsin Westhorpe and John Cunningham.
For the first few years of the Festival, St Michael’s benefitted from the proceeds of a raffle before becoming the beneficiary of the Festival profits, now shared with the Back to the Wild CIC.
Next year’s Festival will take place on 8th – 9th June.
