Donna's Tribe taking on RUN Hereford in memory of woman who was "fierce champion of young people in farming"
“She believed in us when we didn’t believe in ourselves” – Donna Powell’s son, Phillip
At the RUN Hereford start line this May, it won’t be difficult to spot Donna’s Tribe.
Almost 30 friends and family – who are also past and present members of the Young Farmers movement – will gather to take on the 10K route in memory of a woman described by her son as “the beating heart of our community”.
“She was a fierce champion of young people in farming,” said Phillip Powell.
“She believed in us when we didn’t believe in ourselves. She turned up, time and time again, with a kind word, a push in the right direction, and a smile.
“Simply put, many of the team would not be the people they are today without her.”
Donna was cared for by St Michael’s in her final weeks last year, and Phillip says this care is the motivation for the group when they take part in RUN Hereford on Sunday, 10th May.
“This Hospice is close to every team member’s heart, and each and every stride will go towards honouring their unrivalled dedication.”
