Cycling trip made possible thanks to specially adapted vehicle
Dave and Jean, who have been staying with us, enjoyed some time in the saddle during a fun cycling outing.
Expertly overseen by Ella and Sophie from our Therapy team, Dave and Jean took advantage of an occupational therapy and physiotherapy session with a difference during the trip to Hereford Leisure Centre to enjoy rides on different adapted bikes along Halo’s adaptive cycling track.
They were brought to the venue in our WAV (Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle) so generously provided by the Gordon McLeod Leukaemia Fund last year.
“It was great fun,” said Dave. “I used to cycle quite a bit, and would often ride to Abergavenny and back to Hereford.
“I used two different bikes during this trip, and it got my legs moving. St Michael’s took care of everything, and ensured all my needs were met. I had a great time.”
Huge thanks to Halo for providing this valuable resource, and helping ensure this memorable session was so beneficial.
